At "All Things Vocal Radio"

New episodes planned, but for now the news is that All Things Vocal Radio has been added to the NRBN fm network. Now you can hear episodes not only on your computer on iTunes, NewArtistRadio,  and at Podbean, but also on internet and terrestrial radio stations with millions of listeners who are affiliates of NRBN fm including:

This means that all the artists on all the episodes done so far will be getting a huge bump in exposure... AND I will be sending them the songs included in the episodes so they can upload them into their database to be requested and credited at BMI, ASCAP, SESAC.  If you wrote something that gets requested, you'll be getting paid.

In Nashville, you can hear All Things Vocal Radio on the NRBN website every Saturday at 6pm..

And ...soon ATV Radio will be on yet another huge network... details to come... all good news for featured artists!

At "Indie Connect Magazine"

I made the cover of the March edition! I.C. founder Vinny Ribas did a great in-depth interview with me in the magazine. If you want to read it, do it fast because the April edition will replace March on"fools" day :)

"Singing In The Studio", my new guide to capturing vocal magic in the studio, is out and being purchased already internationally. I'm thrilled with the feedback I'm getting... such as rock band 'One Soul Thrust' lead singer Salem Jones' endorsement...

"Your course "Singing In The Studio" kicks more ass than most people will ever allow themselves to have. I simply love you."

Salem and band meanwhile just signed a management deal with international publicist Cameron Tilbury.

To my recurring vocal students... those training in person and by phone... it is such a great pleasure to watch you bloom!

Thanks to Jim Wilkes, Byron Gallimore, Steve Wariner, Mike Coleman, Vinny Ribas, James Sorrel Horse and my fabulous webdesigner Jeff Jennette for all the referrals.. and welcome to the new PPP students of February/March:

My vocal student Eric Normand, who has toured with several top artists and is currently tour manager, band leader and lead guitarist with the Rhett Akins, has written a book called "The Nashville Musician's Survival Guide". It is slated for release April 18th but you can preorder here.

This is first-hand, thorough, current information in a well crafted, beautifully pictured manual full of stories and interviews with other experts in the field of survival for musicians, singers, songwriters and other music business personnel. I am honored to have been asked to contribute a couple of paragraphs titled "Women In The Nashville Music Business" at the end of the section "The Good Ol Boy Network & The Buddy System".

Cecilia Halsey played Royal Pam Beach Arts and Music Festival in Florida. She is busy getting all her song mechanicals ducks (smart girl!!!) in a row to release her new CD.

Camille Alvey released a beautiful video "Cherish The Child". She also got a very positive review from Robert Oermann on her duet with Dickey Lee "She Thinks I Still Care".

Jenny and Ashley have just completed their first video in LA for a single they will be releasing this summer. They also have a very cool 'sneak peak' video comp of live acoustic performances leading to the release of their EP And so the 'buzz' grows on this dynamic duo...

Teen singer Emil Bishaw did a unique flash mob concept music video on a single I produced on him called "You Must Have Made Somebody Happy. True to the the flash mob concept, it was all done in one take. The single, written by Greg Gonzalez, was released on Valentines' Day and is flying up the charts.

Emil also performed the single... with dancers... on the Denver hit TV morning show "Daybreak". A tour is being planned for this breaking artist starting in June.

Leyla Fences was nominated "Female Vocalist of the Year" by the Texas Music Academy.

Sarah Taylor was the featured 'up and coming artist' on Music City Late Night with Ronny McDowell which also featured Ray Stevens, Lori Morgan, Gene Watson and Jeff Bates. Great company to be singing with!

Gail & John Farndell and me in the audience
at the Music City Late Night taping where
Sarah Taylor performed with a stellar cast.

Judy's News

Performance:

I had another blast at the Jerry Foster round with the ever hilarious Gerald Smith, Don Goodman and of course, Jerry.

Studio: LOTS of production completed...

We finished the John Farndell production! John came back for his second trip to the USA from his home in South Africa for me to produce this project we've been working on for about a year.

We really did feel that this Christian lyric country/Aussie/African flavored collection of 12 songs that John and I co-wrote was blessed in the making. I produced the tracks at Hilltop Studios using session musicians Brian Fullen (drums), Mike Chapman (bass) myself (piano), Barry Walsh (keys), Kerry Marx (electric guitar), Chris Leuzinger (acoustic guitar and other weird stuff) and Robby Turner (steel).

I coached John through his unique lead vocal style and then Jennifer O'Brien and John Wesley Riles joined me on background vocals, which we filmed for an upcoming episode of "All Things Vocal TV."Oh yeah... we were buuuusy.

Before John left Nashville he met an image consultant at an Indie Connect meeting named Rana McIntire of Refinery Design.  Rana organized a clothes buying session and a photo shoot that totally captured John and his project. His website will be up soon, designed by Jeff Jennette of Moondog Web Design.

I had the honor of singing bgvs with Cindy Richardson and John Wesley Riles for country legend Gene Watson. Producer/keyboardist Dirk Johnson recut Gene's biggest hits, including "Love In The Hot Afternoon", My Farewell Party", "Paper Rosie". Not sure when the album will be released, but what great fun to work on those songs!

*****
We finished the Darby Haas production!
She brought me the final CD package today and it's just fabulous looking and sounding. We also filmed part of this production for another upcoming episode of "All Things Vocal TV".  I produced it at Mainframe Studio, Nathan Smith engineering. Musicians Mike Chapman, Mike Rojas, Kerry Marx, Chris Leuzinger and Lonnie Wilson (drums) rocked the tracks! She's already getting bookings from the CD.

*****
I produced vocals on Christian singer Angela Stevens's very creative hymn project. We recorded at Mainframe.

*****
I produced a very cool song demo for Rob Ondras and Ira Allen at Mike Schrimpf and Dick McVey's studios. Lyndsey Highlander rocked the solo.

*****
and... I produced the vocals on the last song for Jenny and Ashley 's EP at Loud Studio with Julian King at the helm. OK... now it can be out! YAY!!

Songwriting:

Co-writers I wrote with in Feb/March included Lyndsey Highlander, Nichole Ashley Rain and Anna LaPrad.
