Dear ;

Welcome to the news! It's been a while and there's a ton going on in our village. So grab a cup of dandelion tea or your favorite fall beverage, sit back and get to know some of the folks among us...

Client News Header
Sydni Perry  has been singing bgvs on tour with Carrie Underwood since about 2015. Wise vocal athlete that she is (singing high harmony on this tour is not for the squeamish!), she uses her recorded vocal warmup from our last online lesson. I love this shot of her (on the left) in action from Instagram. Here's a video at the CMAs (watch for Sydni's step out about 2:59).

More about her:
Multi-dimensional music maker, Sydni is a prolific songwriter and also plays fiddle in the band!

W
ill Muse
has released his first single with Radio Disney, and has a beautiful video it... check out 'Spend'.

More about him:
Will is a teen prodigy singer /songwriter /guitarist /pianist. With a heart as big as his talent, he raised over $85,000 for 'Make A Wish' foundation.

Mark Elliott has done an audio book version of his beautiful novel ''The Sons Of Starmount'. The book is getting awesome reviews like this from Inspired Southerner, he is appearing on podcasts (here he is on NCPR) and in-personal book tours. It really is a terrific read, I highly recommend it!

More about him: Mark also has one of the richest male voices I've ever worked with. A member of the band 'Runaway Home', he came to lessons to tweak his vocal technique even more. He owns and engineers in a studio 'Cub Creek Sound', in which I've done some vocal production. There are butterflies swarming right outside his control room window. Wherever Mark is, you can anticipate breathtaking surprises.

The Jolly String Quartet
has a beautiful video of their performance of one of their original songs 'There's Love Somewhere Else' .

More about them:
All four of them are so incredible with a story that is truly remarkable. They started a really cool vlog ... this episode is a well-stitched string of short clips about traveling, setting up, & doing shows.

Jordyn Pepper won 'Folk/Americana Entertainer of the Year' for the second time at the 2019 Josie Awards!

More about her:
The last line on her 'about' website page describes her quite accurately... she is your organic, free-spirited, barefoot hippie and her story continues to be written.

Sofia Evangelina won the 'Music Album' award in the 2019 Young Artist Academy in Hollywood, California! This highly articulate kid has been doing lots of TV interviews and exciting new moves in the works!

More about her:
She is owned by a beautiful malemute puppy who sometimes chimes in on our online lessons!

***************************************
Mia Fanali has a new promo reel now on her website for her very popular cover band band 'The Riff'.

More about her:
With her powerhouse voice, she won Ct 'Star Idol' in 2005 and has an album out as well. We both have our husbands' drums in our music room, so when we're online, it's like we work in mirror spaces!

Dave Isaacs , aka 'Nashville Guitar Guru', is a great guitar teacher in Nashville. We have several of the same clients and I love what he does for them.

He has just published his book 'The Perpetual Beginner - a musician's path to life long learning' and launched a project about reconnecting, rebuilding, and revitalizing the art of playing. He himself is now taking classical guitar lessons. (Fascinating parallel because I'm trading contemporary for classical vocal lessons with Mark Thress.) He recently talked about this concept on a Musicality Now podcast..

More about him:
He has a blog and Youtube channel where you can see how he teaches (and get free lessons!) Find it on his website.

Jenny Tolman just won't stop!

  • She released two more songs... the beautiful 'So Pretty' .. which won 'disc of the day' from Robert K. Oermann in Music Row Magazine,
  • and the hilarious 'There Goes The Neighborhood (with this video!)' which debuted on Billboard Magazine at 25!!.
  • She launched her album at Nashville's City Winery to a packed house that roared it's approval!
  • She did a showcase to launch the album in vinyl.
  • She played CMA Fest Acoustic Corner (next year, main stage?)
  • She stays in the magazines including Rolling Stone (multiple), Parade, The digital Fix Music, Belles & Gals
  • She has a video interview sponsored by Zebco in Wide Open Country...
  • other than that, she's a real couch potato:)

Jon Frattasio co-wrote trop-rock song 'Tequila Under the Bridge'. In June they put out a video with a stellar cast of trop-rock legends, including several of Jimmy Buffett's band members.

More about him:
A very busy musician, Jon has also worked as a policeman. After losing his voice from a medical mistake, he is now working through some significant health issues and our online vocal lessons to get back to singing and making music. He's one of the best people I know in so many ways. It is thrilling to hear his voice coming back!

Sincere LaSound has written a powerful tribute to womankind. I produced his sultry smooth vocals on 'A Goddess She Is' (here's the lyric video) as well as another recent love song.

More about him:
This artist has made the choice to be affirmative and positive... and to honor women with his lyrics. I hope his music takes the R&B genre by storm. Anybody know Oprah??

Leah Rose Duncan was nominated in 3 Josie Awards categories: Rising Star, Modern Country Song and Video of the Year. She was featured in a big article in Monroe Journal.

More about her:
The photos here are then (after tornado hit her house in 2011) and now (Josie Awards). She is a generous and courageous music making force of nature.
