Dear ;

Welcome to the news! First, many of us in the voice community are wondering what we should proactively do about the new coronavirus, and how it will affect our industry. For some common sense strategies, check out this video chat I had with voice teacher Mark Thress.

Then relax, grab a cup of something good and read these news stories from the village...

Leah Grams Johnson's new ep 'Jaroso' will drop on April 10! I got an early copy which stays on replay:) Her first single is 'God Speaks', the second is 'More Like You', a tribute to her mother.

Check out her beautiful 'Making of Jaroso' video.

More about her:
I am very lucky to have Leah as my part-time assistant. She is a true and beautiful young artist in every sense of the word, and if you are into Patty Griffith, horses, Indian blankets, plaid shirts, yoga, sprout salads, the open range and wild spirit of places like Tahoe, you will love her music. And her.

Shantell Ogden has been rocking everything... releasing her new project Song Sampler (grateful to have been her vocal producer again), performing two songs on WSMV-TV's 'Today In Nashville' , creating a 'Behind The Scenes' video series on the making of an album in Nashville, being music supervisor for the movie 'Romance In The Outfield' (she's got a song in there, too), speaker at Berklee Alumni event, charting #3 in European Hot Chart for 'The Heart That Breaks Me', opening for Sawyer Brown, touring the UK...  I'm not sure there's anything she HASN'T done lately!

More about her:
Shantell is not only driven to create songs but is also an astute and generous business woman who always tries for the win-win. She is a smart, creative, beautiful songstress who is always learning to be ever better at everything she does, and it shows!

Shell Marie has been featured with an acoustic performance in CCMmag Cafe of her song 'Come Home'. She sets it up by telling a compelling story that triggered the writing.

More about her:
After rethinking her calling, Shell changed her name and her pop career into Christian contemporary. She has overcome a ton of adversity and seeks to help others do the same through her music.

Singer/songwriter JC Coe released his long anticipated Americana album 'The Far Ends', which he co-produced with Melissa DuPuy.  I sang background vocals on many of the funny, joyful, quirky songs and had a blast.

More about him:
AKA Jeff Crossan turned his song 'I Ate A Cidada Today' into an award-winning children's book by the same name. He's had country hits, BMI awards including Million Air Award and an Emmy nomination.

Lisa Richard was invited onstage to set in with Vince Gill and the Time Jumpers while she was visiting in Nashville (how's that for a casual spot?!). Back home in Canada she was was interviewed and performed on CTV Morning Live.

More about her:
Lisa is a survivor of a near-fatal car wreck. Her song 'Uniforms' honors those who rescued her. She is a powerful, positive presence in any room!

Jason Lyle Black did his first Nashville area show at the Franklin Civic Center. I forget how many ovations he received on this night. What an incredible musician, entertainer and now I am thrilled to say... singer!

More about him:
A globally acclaimed entertainer, when Jason did his trademark upside down piano playing on the Ellen Degeneres show to which she exclaimed, 'Unbelieveable'!

SONG IN A SERIES

'Somethin Like That' - the first song on our album, co-written by me, my husband John and our son Peter - got into Season 4 Episode 5 of a state-of-the-art sci-fi series called 'The Expanse'!

Forbes says it's one of the best shows on TV. I agree! Peter's now buying new tires:)

PERFORMANCES

I was invited to go with my student/production client/co-writer Heather Hayes and play for her, as well as do some songs from my albums, at the Meeting Of The Minds trop-rock festival in Key West.

Thank you Heather and all the radio folks  - the water was fine and we had a complete blast!!

INTERVIEWS:

Aaron Gendle interviewed me for his podcast 'Daily Authors' about my book 'Singing In The Studio'. He asked great questions, and his whole podcast covers an incredible variety of authors and wide-ranging subjects. Honored to be among.

RADIO, SONGWRITING, PHOTO SHOOT:

Thanks to Randy C Moore Ginny Foley and other DJs playing my old MTM music as well as some from John and my album on global reach internet radio stations. So nice to know the music goes on!

Blues artist Travis Bowlin and I wrote a funky song recently. Travis is profoundly creative, also making jewelry, and cigar box guitars.

He's also friends with Lyn Stevens, who shot my new photoshoot (loved working with her).

MEMORY LANE

If you'd like to see some of my history, I recently re-did the 'Story of Us' video for the John and Judy Rodman website.
