Dear ;

Hello and welcome to the new edition of Judy's Village Newsletter! If you got my last edition, you may recall the date listed as September 2019. As I have not yet conquered time travel, it should have been Sept 2018. Argh! OK so back to the present, and on to the news...

Leah Grams Johnson recently
performed 'The Woman You Raised' at the Black Rose Acoustic Society (BRAS) intimate little concert hall in the woods of Black Forest, Colorado. We just discovered a good videotape online of this beautiful tribute to her mother (word to the wise... always figure somebody's videotaping!! :)

More about her:
Leah, as you may remember, is my part time assistant. I'm very happy she's back in Nashville this winter to write, network and do vocal lessons before heading back out west to tour. She's preparing for an acoustic album which I predict will be rocket fuel for her career. Her new material is on par with such Americana icons as Kate Wolf and Patty Griffin.

The Hall Sisters played the Grand Ole Opry last Nashville for the 4th time for the Barbershop Harmony Society.

More about them:
These girls have been singing and arranging harmony since they were teens. Stages they've played include Carnegie Hall. Their performance coach Diane Kimbrough referred them to me about a year ago and I have fallen in love with all 4 of them!

Re Mattei has a new lyric video for her single 'Feels Like It's Gonna Rain', released exclusively on 'The Country Note'. Watch it here.

More about her:
Re has a degree in guitar performance from Berklee and plays electric on stage. She's also a nurse practitioner by day!

Ali Sperry released a new single 'Louise' , which is now being played on Nashville radio's Lightning 100. The groove and sound of her lilting voice is reminiscent of a young Joni Mitchell.

More about her:

Ali is a serious yoga instructor. She credits it as instrumental to the depth of her lyrics.

Heather Hayes just did her first radio interview with Danny Lynn of Tikiman Radio. They and other trop-rock stations are spinning several of the songs we wrote and I produced from the album 'Hideaway'.

If you want to give some love, vote for our song 'Wintertime Blues' on the Radio A1A Trop Rock poll. Thanks!!

More about her:
Heather is manager, medical aesthetician and laser technician for Cavi Medspa Nashville. She knows how to be successful and is determined to become the female Kenny Chesney of coastal Americana. I truly believe she can!

Pop teen sensation Sofia Evangelina just won LA Music Critics Award - Rising Star! Canadian pop artist Sofia Evangelina released her first original song video ‘This Is Your Song’.

More about her:
Still just a teenager, Sofia has already won awards including Canada’s 2014 ‘Overall Talent Awards’, ‘Canada TeenFest’, ‘The Mics’ and has amassed significant media coverage and performance credits. Her debut album was produced by Bryant Olender who worked with Michael Buble.

In addition to her singing prowess (like a mini-Aguilera) she is also an actress and model. She recently began working with Vinny Ribas of Indie Connect, who put her with me as vocal coach. From her lyrics with awesome messages, vocal excellence and maturity far beyond her years, Sofia is a budding world-changer!

Oregon singer/songwriter country artist Briana Renea has a new video out on her single ‘Chasin Trouble’

More about her:
Briana has raised cattle, horses and goats, is studying marketing in college, and rides competitive equestrian show horses. She is a prolific songwriter and has collaborated with many hit writers… her single ‘Widow Maker was featured in the Northwest Pro Rodeo Association finals ad campaign. You may remember from last newsletter, she won Country Female in the IMEA. I’ve gotten to work with Briana as vocal coach, vocal producer and songwriter… very happy to be part of her village!

I got to write some musical theater tunes with my long-time collaborator Darren J. Butler for a one-act play called 'Take My Seat'. I did some vocal workshops at Florence High School, and their performance garnered a 'Superior' for our musical at the Trumbauer Contest in Alabama. The kids were awesome... I couldn't believe how quickly they got up to speed!
