Welcome to my 60th newsletter!

I know... I'm late... this edition will cover the last three months, so it may be a bit longer... only read what you enjoy:)

My waiting  clients get to chill out watching my new baby fish - sent from my sister Pam in Colorado! I like to think they are teaching the old guys to sing John Denver tunes underwater. Or Jimmy Buffett, or Jason Mraz... Blublublub.

News From Judy's Clients:

Jenny Tolman has had a lot of activity this summer. She's played a ton of shows, placed in the top 5 of the International Songwriting Competition's teen and country categories for performance on her song 'Damn Cigarettes', did a showcase for several label reps including Mark Lusk at Inpop Records,  finished her first EP (graphics being created now), and is writing a ton more songs!

Shantell Ogden has been nominated by the IMEA for Americana Artist of the year and Americana Album of the year! Congratulations, Shantell! She's been on the road this summer for her 'Go West' tour. Her EPK is here (yours truly makes a cameo appearance as her vocal producer!).

***
Billy Devereaux, AKA 'Singing Mechanic' (my brother) received an incredible, indepth article at the Nashville Journal- brilliantly written by journalist Tim Ghianni.

***
Dakota Bradley is on the mega stage as we speak... lots of cool news including the fact that Rolling Stone Magazine listed him as one of the "37 Best Things we Saw at the CMA Fest 2014", Tim McGraw surprised Dakota by joining him onstage when Dakota opened for him at a big show in Illinois.

***
Salem Jones and her band One Soul Thrust released their powerful new single 'Shimmering Wind' during her interview on 'The Rush' CHRY radio. Lyrical video to the song is here.

Former finalists on 'The Voice', mother/daughter duo 2Steel Girls did a strong showcase for top management at Nashville's 12th & Porter. Many PCG artists attended to support them - love that community! They also successfully completed a Kickstarter campaign, won studio time at Blackbird Studios and will be produced by legendary songwriter/producer Trey Bruce!  Not bad for a summer:)

Singapore singer (and also vocal coach himself) Matthew Quek released his new album 'Soul Companion' last month. He also is working on a charity effort to support research into dyslexia.

***
West Virginia's traditional country icon 'Miss Jeanie' got a sweet write up in Country Entertainment USA.

***
Annie Bany has just released a pop/rap animated video on her song 'Superlove'.

***
Chandler Marie had a busy summer... she released and did a Nashville showcase for her new album 'Breaking Down'... and she got married! (New songwriting to come, I'm sure:)

***
Pop singer/songwriter/dancer Taylor X did a fantastic showcase at 12th & Porter! Introduced by Bernard Porter of PCG, Taylor has quite a story and the creativity and energy of her show garnered an extended standing ovation in this jaded city. Once again, many supportive PCG artists were among the packed room. It was especially awesome for me to hear how well her live voice held out with all that movement! (YAY pulling!!) Check out her TaylorXperience Tour Promo and you'll get the idea!

Christian artist Trish Lober did a beautiful job in the video of her song "Come Running Home".  Trish teaches piano in Nashville, btw.

***
Also a former finalist on 'The Voice', Adley Stump is doing a creative promotion to broaden her fan base. An interesting approach I haven't seen before.

***

RedEye ezine in Chicago heads a recent interview article with "Kacey Musgraves is single handedly turning people into country fans". Yep... opening for Katy Perry, no less! Wild!

***
Country rocker Mick Fury put together a cool highlight reel. I love seeing the creativity my students use not only writing and performing but also promoting their music!

***
Brody Taylor was invited to perform at a showcase by the William Morris agency (WME) and got some great industry feedback (hope it moves towards deal time!) He has a video on the beautiful song 'Stones' here. Yours truly sang bgvs with him at the showcase.

Judy, Brody and performance coach Diane Kimbrough.. the team!!

Lyndsey Highlander opened for Phil Vassar among others... she has been burning up the road this year! I saw her in rehearsal with her band at SIR and she is using great vocal technique to protect her powerful chops. Not sure when she sleeps, though. She promotes other strong new female artists out by inviting them to perform at her new Nashville concert series she calls 'The Stomp'.

Jason Goble, another new PCG client, has been playing 3 to 5 gigs a week, including a recent Bourbon Festival in Kentucky. All the more reason he 'pulls' his voice in true PPP fashion - just warmed him up this morning and he has taken to it like a duck to water- made my day!
