Welcome to my 56th newsletter!

The end of 2013 brought with it some vital vocal lessons for end-of-year gigs, precious & whimsical memories with family and friends - and some nasty bugs (cold and flu)! Argh. Moving between yin & yang we voices have to learn to celebrate and to navigate, don't we? Well here's to some 2014 joy and musical milestones for everybody!

      News From Judy's Clients:

Streamsound Records artist Dakota Bradley is set to take 2014 with a sledgehammer... he has a great new single out - 'Wild Child' - and has a very important live tour in the works. He is wisely getting ready for the vocal marathons he'll be doing...

Shantell Ogden has been receiving rave reviews for the album "Better At Goodbye" like this one at WineCountryMusic Blog Her tracks were produced by John Willis, and I was her vocal producer. Kudos to Shantell on the awesome, powerful launch!

Georgia Country Female Artist of the Year 2013 Megan Fowler's single "We've All Got A Song" is out on iTunes! (Yay!) She is also a PCG client. We will be in the studio to work on more vocals soon.

Brett Gillan, lead singer of Brushville, has a dynamic performance video out on their single "Bar Star". Produced by Kyle Lehning, this band is going to be rocking 2014...

Kelsey K performed with the Sioux City Symphony! Busy artist, her song "Blue Jean Girl" will be featured in an upcoming movie "Dakota's Summer" to be release this spring.

Teen pop singer Karoline Rhett has an Evver Video of her song "I'm the Melody" With 59,000 Facebook fans and #1 ranking on Reverbnation, this artist's possibilities are infinite, and she is wisely training for not only where she is, but where she is going.

My friend, performance coach Diane Kimbrough did a very well received (not surprising) talk at the latest Nashville Berklee Jam. I always LOVE what Diane does for my clients that I refer to her for their stage work. Read the blogpost by Eric Normand about the event for performance tips!

Ali Sperry and her stellar band did a very successful house concert series on the East Coast in November. It has been a blast to watch this artist become ... this artist!... and to see the community that has grown up around her, joining and supporting her and each other. The way it should be.

Taylyn Combs video 'Kentucky Thunder' got 5900 views (not bought, she tells me) in 2 days and now has over 11,000. There's a reason... it's great!!

Russion pop star HiperChel's video 'I Woke Up Famous Today' now has over 285,000 views! It was great to see her and her manager Michael Moore (who was head of promotion for Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' and tons of other legendary artists) in Nashville recently! We brainstormed some music business ideas (not a bad brainstorming partner here:)

Michael and me at an album release party for "Aberdeen Green"

My friend and former student Stephanie Adlington, who now teaches voice at Belmont University, has been doing some cool jazz and standards performances. She opened for internationally renown Johnny Rogers at the gorgeous Hermitage Hotel in Nashville. What a treat to see her there!

Emerging PCG artist Emma Leigh made the cover of Shenandoah Living! She performed in Nashville's BB King's Club as part of a benefit show. Welcome to the Nashville stage, Emma- I am so happy to be working with you!

PCG artist Brooklyhn Woods, a native of Kentucky coal mining country, organized a charity drive to get some blankets to desperately poor (and cold) people in her area. It was a smashing success!  Among the artists that performed at the event, her friend Kelsie May (also with PCG) blew the crowd away with her fresh version of "Go Tell It On The Mountain". I adore both these compassionate, strong artists, already doing their part to change the world!

Cassandra Kubinski has released a song about autism called 'Not So Different'. 50% of the proceeds (and we can buy it for only 99 cents!) will benefit "Autism Speaks".

Did I miss you? If you have some cool news to share, please email me so I can get it in next issue!

      Judy's News:

      Studio work:
      • I am in the process of working with Kurdish singer Azar Ghobadi. Her EDM tracks were created by Mahdyar Aghajani.  I will produce her vocals later this year when she comes to Nashville. It's been interesting collaborating over email, phone and Skype and learning each other's way of communicating. I look forward to working in person! Here is a video from her last project: "Leaving You"

      • I had a blast singing background vocals for producer Tom Paden. He is so creative, innovative and love for the work; it's ALWAYS a blast for everybody working on his projects.
      • And I had the pleasure of producing Charles Tapley's vocals with producer Phil Lister at Phil's studio.Great to see Phil again!
      Songwriting:

I co-wrote with Jayson Gold, and our first one out of the gate hit it out of the park! (And we hope other people think so:)
