News From Judy's Clients:

Camilla Tutt won first place at Meridian, Mississippi's Jimmy Rogers Festival. In another contest, she was one of the top 5 "Sing With Sara (Evans)" contestants.

Congrats, Camilla!

Kelsie Klingensmith played Nashville's Hard Rock Cafe during CMA Fest and opened for Parmalee and Courtyard Hounds at Milwaukee's Summerfest, also making an appearance on TMJ 4 NBC. Go girl!

Shae Williams is hard at work finishing her album with Roger Ryan, working out her voice as well as doing high end physical training. Here is her video made for the 'Open for Brandy' contest, in which she was a finalist. Her smooth, multidimensional voice so shines out from my office at her lessons - look for this new artist's career to sprout wings.

...not a glam shot of Shae and me,
but shows the joy we have at her vocal lessons

The Lockets have a new video "Stepping Stone"... Jenny and Ashley truly shine on this song. I got to talk about them in an interview filmed at Blackbird Studio...

My dear friend producer/pianist/arranger Ron Oates is very visible (along with some other great musician friends) on Marty Raybon's beautiful performance video "Bright New Morning".

Jenny Tolman blew everyone away at her first major performance at 15th annual Moore & Moore Fan Club Party. Jenny opened for TG Sheppard, T Graham Brown, Georgette Jones, Kelly Lang and others, and I could not have been prouder of her voice and her stage performance! Her next gig? Vegas, for goodness sake!!

Country rocker/ Master Mechanic Billy Devereaux's first video illustrating his 'Singing Mechanic' do-it-yourself Mechanic Club now has over 100,000 views on it! So proud of you, dear brother! If you work on your own car, check out 'How to Replace Front Brakes/ Stuck in Traffic'.
PCG Institute artists Cassandra Russel, Demi Downing, Taylor Giese, Jordyn Pepper, Autumn Nicholas and Erin McLendon performed at the first Lennox Village "Fair On The Square" in Nashville. The audience and the vendors loved it... it was a great time for all. Thanks to journalist Dave Carew for letting us know about the opportunity. It takes a village:)

Madison McKenzie also had a release party for her long-awaited album produced by Bob Bullock; I was vocal producer. She performed some songs from the album to a large launch crowd. YES!

Judy's News:

Studio work:

We finished up the Flyte Three production with their vocals... Mainframe Studio engineer Nathan Smith gave us an incredible mix. They have some exciting things down the pike!

Producer Bob Bullock put me in as vocal producer for Demi Downing, and I did vocal production for producer Dick McVey on his client Jonathan Masters. I LOVE working with other production teams like this!

I sang background vocals on projects for Wynne Adams and Michael Stergis. A good way to keep my own chops up!

Performance:

The Commodore Grille songwriter round I did was, as always, great fun. The Douglas Corner full band 6Play gig? This occurred right in the middle of the first cold I've had in about three years! You've probably already seen the blogpost I did on it. I am SO looking forward to the our next full band show in August (see 'Breaking News', and hope to see you there!

Invited by our friend legendary keyboardist Catherine Styron Marx, John and I got to SEE Bob James and David Sanborn, featuring Steve Gadd and James Genus at the (newly unbankrupt) Schermmerhorn. Did I mention it was drummer-legend Steve Gadd? Just look at John's face:) What a concert... THANKS, CATHERINE!

Songwriting:

Writers I co-wrote with this last two months included Wynne Adams and Billy Devereaux.

Seminars, workshops, road trips:

PCG Nashville enlisted me as speaker at their latest teleseminar for the 'Road To Fame' contestants. After talking about vocal information every performer needs, the attendees asked some great questions. So cool to be able to connect at those distances, and many thanks to PCG for inviting me to be do the event.

I  went on the road with Streamsound Records' artist Dakota Bradley for his performances on his whirlwind radio promo/ concert tour. He is history happening... a great songwriter, singer, performer and human being. I am happy to be a part of his village!
