Pop artist Jason O'Toole is making some of his music available free... but really worth buying!.

Country singer Emilee Allan's new CD has also been released...  check it out on CD Baby.

Cassandra Kubinski has new website and blog, including news, cd releases, jingle work, live shows videos, charity concert at the Bitter End and more. It's a very informative format. She's based in New York but is active in Nashville as well.

Young Jordan Futch gave a great example of singing a rangy song we worked on... without strain! Very proud of her here singing "Mary Did You Know".

Judy's News

Seminars, workshops:

I gave a 2 hour professional presentation at the Nashville Musicians Union for producers and engineers called the "Vocal Production Workshop". I talked about the many variables that go into getting a truly magical vocal performance in the studio, and what they can do to help their singers.  Doug Farrar of Rock Step Creative filmed the event which was attended by 40 audio pros, and it will soon be available on my website.

Many thanks to my husband, John Rodman, for organizing this event, to Nichole Cochran for promoting it and to all who came!

Studio work:

I produced Tonya Sue Pollard's vocals on her new project at Mainframe Studio. We're looking forward to hearing her producer/engineer Nathan Smith's mixes very soon!

I produced vocals for Florida teen Paloma Ruiz-Ramon at Jay's Place; her producer was Jay Vern.

I produced vocals for the very cool, long awaited project by singer/songwriter Ali Sperry.

I joined my session singing buddy Thom Flora at The Playground Studio to do some backgrounds for artist Linda Brooks, her producer was master guitarist Chris Leuzinger.

Tom Paden once again used me as vocal producer member of his production team (thx Tom!). This time we worked on a wonderful new teen singer/actor named Riley Ablah at County Q Studios. Her project is mixed and should be available soon. You'll notice that Riley joined me for the video "Headphones and Cue Mix" (see above).

Ron Oates and I demoed our new song at Bill Hullett's studio. Bill added some masterful guitar to Ron's beautiful piano tracks. Singing the lead was sweet with these stellar musicians.

I produced vocals on rock singer Rory Mallon, Jessie Poe engineer.

Songwriting:

Some of my co-writers for Dec/Jan were Ron Oates, Wade Trammell, Robin Ruddy, Tiffany Haseker, Chaz McKinney and Tonya Sue Powell.

Performance:

I played a magical set with Jerry Foster, Kevin Sharp and Jim McBride at the Commodore. Sometimes the special musical moments are unpredictable, and this show truly touched us all. Kevin is recovering from a very serious illness, Jerry and Jim are old friends and it was like Grace played through us all night.

Kevin, Jerry, Jim and me

I played a rare solo performance at the Rutledge... thanks to all my sweet friends and family who attended- it was great fun to revisit some music I haven't made in a while!

I played Lonnie Layhew's annual charity show "Happening For Kids". My little student Jordan Futch sat in with us to sing a sweet Christmas song.
