Dear ,

Welcome to my 43rd newsletter!

I know, I'm late. I'd tell you the dog ate my homework but truth is, the boogie board got in the way (vacation was sweeeet!)

Sweet surprise... while on vacation I found out I was named "Best Vocal Coach" by Nashville Music Pros!

Coming from this particular community, I am truly thrilled- thank you!

Singer/songwriter Cecilia Halsey's project "Puzzle Pieces" which I produced is released! She also recently opened for Alan Jackson at the Huntsville Alabama Civic Center.  She took her studio band for the gig, including me... great fun and a great show!

My brother, rocker/singer/songwriterBilly Devereaux recently rocked the house in a full band set for Lonnie Layhew's "Happening for Kids" charity event at Nashville's Bikini Beach Bar. The second show he will do is at BB Kings (see above).

The duo "Jenny and Ashley" had their video for their single "Beach Weekend" featured on Comcast's "On Demand". Congrats, girls! Too cool!

PJ Steelman is hosting a songwriter's night at 620 State Street, Bristol, Tn, 8pm til 11pm. And by the way... PJ has a Grammy nomination for 2011 Americana Album of the Year! Congrats, PJ!!!

If you're into traditional country, this artist is the real deal... Jeannie Slusarek has released her new CD... with three of my cowritten songs:  "Cloud of Dust", "Sweet Sarcastic" and "Fool Chain"... Thanks to her producer Lonnie Spiker for putting me in the team as vocal producer. Love this authentic roots project!

Tyson Bowman has been nominated ICM's "New Artist of the Year"... congrats, Tyson!

Emil has released the first single from his new project I produced at Brewbeat Studio ..."With My Eyes Closed". The video has already been selected for Independent Music Network's Spotlight (they got the title wrong, but hey, we'll take it!) This is a song I co-wrote with Rand Bishop- we are all very excited that this project has launched!

Voice-over talent and actress Diana Holland has garnered a role in the play "William Shakespeare Presents Terminator The Second",  produced by the Nashville performance collective "Husky Jackal Theater". From the look of the site this should be a blast to watch!

Congratulations to newly wed Leslie Martin of the duo

Winfield's Locket! Leslie married Jason Heinke a few days ago ... now, you guys have to come back from your honeymoon at some point and get back in the studio you know!

Kelsey Klingensmith (aka Kelsey Doll) has lots of news ... she got a standing "O" singing a song she co-wrote with me at the Woodbury County Fair; writing and cowriting regularly and getting songs together for her next recording project. And she is always performing somewhere... she has a special tank of gas, this kid!

Judy's News

Studio work:

I produced vocals for Winfield's Locket as they are almost wrapping up their new project. They are pausing now for Leslie's wedding, then we'll resume final vocals in the coming month. Lots of good buzz on this project!

Sim Balkey's project is ongoing... I produced his vocals on some of the tracks we previously recorded - we'll soon finish up and I can't wait for the feedback!

Got Kerry Marx on final guitar overdubs, John Wesley Riels and I sang bgvs on the project I produced for Cecilia Halsey that just got released. Nick Sparks and Tommy Dorsey created mix and master magic... it's definitely radio-and-download ready.

I always love working with producer/writer Tom Paden... I produced vocals on his client Angela DiPalentino and sang background vocals.

I was in Omni studio producing vocals for country rocker Adley Stump. She has some very exciting things going on... hope to be able to share the news next time.

Tom Paden also called me as vocal producer for his production client phenom Cole Armour. Then I sang background vocals on the project with Kenny Chesney's background singer/pianist Wyatt Beard.

Master session guitarist and producer Chris Leuzinger hired me to do bgvs with session buddy Thom Flora for his client Linda Brooks.

Another master session guitarist/producer Biff Watson hired me to produce vocals on his fantastic young client MacKensie Morgan. Love my guitar-playing/producer friends!

Songwriting:

Some of my co-writers these two months were Jason Gregory, Lindsey Davis, Tom Paden, Kelsey Klingensmith, Chaz McKinney

Performance:

I had a blast singing live backgrounds for Cecilia Halsey on her road gig opening (see above).

I was invited by Mark Houser to sing the National Anthem for the Tennessee Environmental Hall of Fame Celebration. 80 year old Ralph H. Arnold Jr was inducted in a precious ceremony.

Multimedia writer and singer Lynn Bryant invited me to perform for the "Italian Lights Festival" in support of her "Learning For Life" program for children at St. Pius. Also included among the performers at the two day event were Lynn herself, the children's choir she organized, Sheri Smith and my student Chaz McKinney.

My old MTM single "Until I Met You" was listed in heavy rotation in Austria, Italy, Germany... wow, staying alive! Thanks to DJ Pete Lenloy and Radio Carinzia!

Workshops, Talent Shows:

I judged the "Sing Your Heart Out" contest in Williamson County. Congrats to the winners... overall winner was terrific... Brenda Mullen. It was a fair and unbiased contest and I always love that!
