To my recurring vocal students... those training in person and by phone... it is such a great pleasure to watch you bloom!
Thanks to Rick Teague, Nathan Smith, Susan Craig, Jay Vern, Diane Kimbrough, Greg Humprey and Sherry Hayes for all the referrals.. and welcome to the new PPP students of April/May:
My awesome webmaster Jeff Jennette designed a great website, just now live, for my South African vocal student/co-writer and production client John Farndell: www.milestonesongs.com.
from the John Farndell photo shoot
Colby Bell sang at the NASCAR Nationwide race at Talladega, which aired on ESPN2.
Tyson Bowman's "Thank God For People" (which I co-wrote with him) is #19 and climbing at Power Source Music Chart. May it continue upwards! Tyson opened for Craig Morgan in Erie, Penn and is continuing to support his charitable cause, Autism.
And... he's got his first sponsor, a sock company called "Swiftwick"! Congrats, Tyson.
Musician/author Eric Normand celebrated the launch of his long-awaited book "The Nashville Survival Guide" by doing a show at "The FIllin' Station" in Kingston Springs. I promise you that if you are doing or want to do biz in Nashville music industry you should run - not walk- your fingers over to that link and buy that book!
Darby Haas recently played Jimbo's Bar in Owensboro, Ky. along with other shows promoting her new CD which we completed earlier this year. The album is getting nothing but great feedback!
Traditional country singer/songwriter PJ Steelman has a new album out. I really like the clean, simple way he's marketing it from his emails...
Kelsey Doll has been writing like there's no tomorrow (ok, we won't go there:) A prolific songwriter, younger than a teen, she is performing all over the place both on stages and several TV shows like this one. She is also writing songs and performing for charity events such as CASA (for abused children. Already very comfortable with media she is also doing a lot of YouTube videos.
Oh... and Kelsey just won a scholarship towards NSAI's Advanced Songwriting Camp. Congratulations, you little star, you!

I guested on the Ronnie McDowell Music City Late Night show. Great band... Ronnie's interviews always fun... lots of laughter... w ill let you know when the series airs. More pictures here
Many radio DJs in the US and around the world have been playing my old MTM music. Many thanks to them for keeping the music alive! It just blows me away how music continues...
I joined a very interesting lineup put together by the Sally Cat girls who organized a benefit for the Dance Theater of Tennessee. It began with a beautiful string quartet doing Celtic flavored songs (my fav), then I did a few songs, then some stunning dancers from the studio did three short pieces which stunned and mesmerized us all. The theater seems a magical, professional and uplifting place where dancers are born and nurtured. Well worth supporting, and the performances more than worth the tickets!
Also... wherever you see the Sally Cat show, you won't be disappointed by the well-run, great-fun production. I LOVE THESE GIRLS! They showcase great, undiscovered (or underdiscovered) indie talent. They are, in my opinion, better than the proverbial bomb!
Studio:
I sang backgrounds on an album for 3ABN this month. With 8 and sometimes 12 voices, it's always a blast.
Louisiana sister duo Winfield's Locket is back in the studio to work on their second project! I am producing their new vocals at Benchmark Sound. Grammy nominated Illya Toshinsky is producing tracks, great to be on his team again!
