PPP Client News
To those of you who regularly come in for lessons in person or by phone.. thank you for your dedication to your voices!
Thanks to... Brendan McCarthy,Debi Champion, Tim Jackson, Bernadette Wolfe, Michelle Bailey, Denny Martin, Prinwall Entertainment, Michael Logen, Dick McVey, Diane Kimbrough, Tammy Klingensmith ... for trusting me with your referrals.. and welcome to the new PPP students of June/July:
Emil Bishaw has lots of news... his last single "You Must Have Made Somebody Happy" made it to #4 on the Independent Music Network's Mainstream Chart. This song also was added to the play list at Abercrombie Kids. But that's old news.. he and I have been back in the studio for a whole new round. He performed and was interviewed on several JAM TV productions while in Nashville. His new website, being created by JAM Records, will be launched soon.

John Farndell's Christian country CD project I produced and cowrote with him was released in South Africa in June... congrats and Godspeed the continued success, John!
Winfield's Locket was chosen to kick off the 2011 CMA festival with their version of the National Anthem! This grooving duo also performed on the Don Gatlin show, produced by JAM Media and soon to air on the internet. AND last but not least... one of them will be waltzing to wedding bells soon! (Leslie). Last album moved their careers mightily.. and they are now working on their new album... quite a busy duo.
Tyson Bowman's song we cowrote "Thank God For People" went to #3 on Powersource Inspirational Country chart. YAY!
Lyndsey Highlander launched a successful Kickstarter campaign to fund her new recordings. She has been very active as a performer, slated to open for Randy Travis, and doing full band shows at Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville.
Grammy-winning singer Leslie Ellis has been performing in Europe (celebrity wedding, etc) and then came home and did the Bluebird Cafe with her husband Casey Kelly, Alex Call and John Foster. Leslie was one of the studio pros that I interviewed as part of my multimedia course "Singing In The Studio"- thx, amazing woman!
Kelsey Doll has been regularly performing in Iowa and Nashville. While in town she had more personal lessons with me (we usually have phone lessons) and wrote a bucket full of new songs with co-writers, as well as doing a little recording! Busy girl... Here is her picture with BMI's Thomas Cain that was put on the BMI website.
Marlee Scott performed some songs from her new recording project at Red Rooster in Nashville. This dynamic artist is managed by Big Ride Entertainment.
Janis Ian (writer and singer of the classic hit "At Seventeen"), who co-wrote and sang on one of my MTM recordings, now has a sale of her music to benefit "The Pearl Foundation". Her music continues to bless.

I am very happy to announce that my husband, John Rodman, is now producing the shows for Jimmy Adams Media (JAM). His leadership has been making a great difference for all of us involved with these shows. And I'm not the only one who says it! :)

Workshops:
I was one of several presenters at a great Indie Connect workshop for songwriters. The amount of info the participants got from this day-long event was tremendous... I even learned some things!
I was speaker for a regular Indie Connect meeting on the subject "Vocal Damage"
I also judged a couple of contests where the participants got very good instructional feedback: Galaxy of Stars songwriting contest and "Cream of the Crop"contest presented by Music 4 Mental Health and the Heart Of Virginia. My brother Billy Devereaux is one of the show creator/hosts.Finals were held at the Hard Rock Cafe.
