To my recurring vocal students... those training in person and by phone... it is such a great pleasure to hear your progress!

Thanks to Shawn Conley (Red Alert studio), MIchael Moore, Suzy Reed, Mike Borchetta, Billy Aerts, Lyndsey Highlander, Don Rollins, Daniel NovickRand Bishop, for all for referrals.. and welcome to the new PPP students of September:

New York:

My friend and co-writer Cassandra Kubinski hosts a brand new songwriter series called "Origins" - The Songwriters and The Songs That Made Them"
* Venue: Cafe Vivaldi (32 Jones St, off Bleecker, West Village)
* 9pm - 11pm
* NO COVER - tip jar

Cassandra's indie film "Clear Blue Tuesday" is getting lively reviews from all over. She has dual citizenship in NY and Nashville, and donated part of the proceeds from her album "Live at Camp Nashville" for Flood Relief. GO CASS!!

Los Angeles:

My vocal student and co-writer Jordyn Mallory won a Myspace contest to become part of the cast for several episodes in the interactive TV show called "If I Can Dream"! Created by Simon Fuller, it follows aspiring performers (singers, actors, models, athletes, etc) as they attempt to succeed in their chosen field. Cast members included Justin Gaston (Nashville Star contestant, co-star of Taylor Swift's 'Love Story' video) and Alex Lambert (Am Idol semifinalist). Congratulations, girl!!

Nashville:

Lyndsey Highlander and her band made it to the finals for the Wildhorse Saloon house band contest! She's also been chosen Spotlight #1 for NACA South showcase college tour. Rock, on Lynds!

Singer/songwriter/author/speaker Jenni Schaefer was in town this week giving a presentation about eating disorders and book signing (her second book is called "Hello Me") at Vanderbilt University. The mix is being finished on her first album project, in which I am very happy to say I have two co-writes with her.

Marlee Scott was in from Canada and played Nashville's "Listening Room". She was recently nominated as "Rising Star" by the CCMA. Congrats, Marlee!

My friend and vocal student Salem Jones and her powerful band "One Soul Thrust" have just released their FABULOUS new rock album. Rock icon Glenn Hughes does a duet on one of the cuts with her. If you need to wake up, support them and buy this.Oh... and they are looking for seriously lucky management.

Emil Bishaw performed for the Missing Children's Organization again, this time in Rochester, NY.

Got news you'd like to share?
Let me know- this newsletter is for YOU! I'll include it next month.

Performance:

I did another "Jerry Foster and friends" songwriter round again at the Commodore Lounge, broadcast by Neon Productions Radio.

Studio:

I produced vocals on two new acts as part of the production team of Mike Borchetta and Darren Smith (who also happens to lead Tim McGraw's band "Dance Hall Doctors" and co-produces Tim with Byron Gallimore). The two new artists are Kelly Parkes and a great new young sister-duo "Jenny and Ashley".

Mike Borchetta, me, Jenny & Ashley

I sang background vocals for Mike Chapman, producer, at Frank Green studio for country artist.Carl Wayne Meekins.

I produced tracks and vocals on Emil Bishaw's 6 new songs at Hilltop Studio, John Nicholson engineer, Tommy Dorsey mastering. Many thanks to band leader Mike Chapman and our all-star studio band. New Christmas single should be out soon!

I produced tracks on alt-country artist Cecilia Halsey at Eclectic Studio, Nick Sparks engineer. We should get her vocals and mix by the end of the year for her fabulously creative new project.

I coached vocals and arranged/sang bgvs for attorney/singer/manager/creative entity Jim Wilkes at Blackbird Studio, Ron Oates producer.

Songwriting:

Co-writers I wrote with in September/October included Christa DeJarnett, Nichole Rain, Leslie Ellis, Chaz McKinney.
