 Breaking News

"All Things Vocal" is now an internet TV series!

Michael Elley, who I met through Indie Connect, and Jimmy Adams who created the massive "Seen On Demand" internet platform, have offered me an internet TV series.

This series, "All Things Vocal TV",  will play on Michael Elley's new "Lightwaves Inspirational Network" which is launching on the SeenOnDemand.com platform that reaches 192 countries and millions of viewers. As you might imagine, I am very excited about this opportunity.

We filmed our first episode, which will probably be the pilot, at Loud Studio. It will be called "Capturing the Magic of Final Vocals". My featured artist-victims were the precious "Jenny and Ashley". We filmed the process as I produced their actual final lead vocals on an upcoming single called "Beach Weekend". You'll be hearing it on radio, I assure you. The rest of the production team of Mike Borchetta, Julian King and Darran Smith were also there and on-camera. Stay tuned ... I'll keep you posted...

A breakthrough new product for studio singing available soon!

I have almost finished a new multimedia product called "Singing In The Studio." I'll be sending you news about that as soon as it's ready... but to give you a heads up, if you are singing in the studio, you need this, and I guarantee you can't find this level of information anywhere else.I am so thrilled to have finally come near the end of finishing it! Whew! (This is why you didn't get a December newsletter:)

To my recurring vocal students... those training in person and by phone... it is such a great pleasure to hear your progress!

Thanks to Kenny Greenberg, Ashley Cleveland, Wynne Adams, Jay Vernali, Eddie Kilgallon and my webdesigner Jeff Jennette for all the referrals.. and welcome to the new PPP students of December/January:

I am doubly thrilled, because I had the pleasure of producing him! Here's the press release...

Emil

Los Angeles, CA --- Teen singer Emil was named the New AC Artist of the Year by New Music Weekly, an industry trade publication that sponsors the New Music Awards each year. The New Music Awards honors the very best artists and bands with formats ranging from Top40, Country, Adult Contemporary and College radio.  In addition to artists, awards are given to radio stations, programmers, record labels and industry professionals. Emil received one of the top awards.

Jenni Schaefer's long awaited CD is now out! She named it "Phoenix, Tn" to represent her emergence from the ashes of an eating disorder that instead of killing her, gave her a national platform from which to make a difference.  I had the honor of co-writing, doing backgrounds and producing her lead vocals on some of the CD.

Lyndsey Highlander has been playing out a lot... playing acoustic sets at Borders, Casa Blanca Coffee, etc, and singing bgvs for artist Chris Hurt at 12th & Porter. She also did some dynamite recording with her producer Ron Oates and engineer Julian King at Blackbird Studios.

Sweetwater Rose want us to check out their new interactive Facebook page where they list several upcoming performances, movie soundtrack, you can hear songs, see pics & videos... in fact, they have a GREAT Facebook page. All artists wanting to promote their music need to have great band pages on Facebook (the morality of its founder notwithstanding), in my humble opinion.

Jenny and Ashley are now on their first promotional tour to support their first single "Indescribable", written by Ashley.

Christa DeJarnett cut several of our co-written songs at Downtown Batterie Studio with Tony Morra at the helm.

Got news you'd like to share?
Let me know- this newsletter is for YOU! I'll include it next month.

Judy's News

Performance:

I'm playing the Jerry Foster show at the Commodore Grill in Nashville again on Thurs, Feb 3rd, 7pm. I'll be in the round with Jerry, Don Goodman and Gerald Smith. If you're on Facebook, you can see a video of a song I cowrote with Jerry and sang at his 75th birthday bash. That's Vegas crooner Perry Danos chewing gum:)

I guested and was interviewed as vocal coach for the new "SallyCat Show" internet series to air on ViaNation.com soon.

Studio:

In addition to that wild day producing the vocals for Jenny and Ashley;

Engineer Nick Sparks and I recorded lead vocals & mixed at his Eclectic Studio, and then Tommy Dorsey mastered Cecilia Halsey's new alt country project... which sounds completely fabulous. Can't wait to finish out her album and get what I know will be great feedback from radio.

I produced some kicking tracks for new country artist Darby Haas at Mainframe Studio, Nathan Smith engineering. Mike Chapman (bass) was band leader for the all star band including Lonnie Wilson (drums), Mike Rojas (keys & accordian), Chris Leuzinger (acoustic guitars) and Kerry Marx electric guitars). Darby sounded amazing even on her scratch vocals; we'll be finishing out this extremely cool project in February.

Songwriting:

Co-writers I wrote with in Dec/Jan included Dawn Nichols, Leslie Ellis, Lyndsey Highlander and Christa DeJarnett.
