Studio:

I produced vocals on a song for Nichole Ashley Rain at Darkhorse Studios.

I produced vocals for producer Bob Bullock on his client and my vocal student Jed Duncan.

I produced vocals on a rock anthem for Billy Devereaux at Chelsea studio.

Songwriting:

I cowrote a cool young contemporary country song with a client of producer Robert Jason named Mona Lynn.

I cowrote a traditional country song with producer/recording artist Lonnie Spiker for his client and my vocal student Jeannie Slusarek.

I cowrote another song with my South African Christian music client John Farndell.

I cowrote a very smart rock song with business guru/musician Mike Coleman

I didn't get one... several people were close, but the answer I was looking for is: Straining for high notes causes the larynx to uncomfortably rise in the throat.

Vocal Tip of the Month

Re-think the word "Projection". Instead of thinking of it as pushing air at your audience, think of it as RESONATING A MESSAGE. For much better "reach", use the power of persuasion, not brute force.

On A Personal Note:

My husband John and I went to a birthday party for a dear friend this month...veteran producer Ron Oates. His career credits are extensive, his hit records legion and his life story amazing. And he's far from done yet!

Attending was a wide range of people, from non-musical friends to recording artists, attorneys, random musicians and of course, his family and some clients.

It hit me that it is so important for us all to incorporate lots of different kinds of people in our lives. We are widened as human beings and in our musical endeavors by this rich diversity of friendship. I was honored to be among the party.

And besides, he cooks a MEAN seafood boil!

By the way... my heartfelt gratitude goes out to every one of you who is trying to get the bioremediation solution rolling... still trying to get that test-bed!! Need more info? Just ask.
