PPP Client News
To my recurring vocal students... those training in person and by phone... It makes my day to hear your voices shine!
Thanks to all for referrals... and welcome to the new PPP students of May:
Emil Bishaw , my 16 year old production client and vocal student, performed at the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children's annual Hope Awards in Washington DC. He got a standing ovation from an audience full of celebrity attendants and major media... and signed his first autographs.
Emil sang his two pop singles, the first release from the album of the same name "All I Ever Knew" , and then a special release on "Missing Child", which I co-wrote with Michael Black. Emil will donate his profits from "Missing Child" to the Missing Children's organization, to raise awareness so vital to finding these children.
Please check out these clips and comment to support him:
My brother Billy Devereaux, sang to a crowd of 1,000 ...and a couple of standing ovations this Memorial Day weekend at an outdoor festival. Rock it, Bro!
Awakened Heart continues to perform at festivals, clubs and parties. This duo performs acoustic reinterpretations of rock and pop songs from the 70s 80s and 90s. Oh, Mike Coleman's day job is business coach guru extraordinaire. How do I know? He coaches me!
The three girl group Sweetwater Rose performed at Franklin, Tn's Puckett's Grocery. Among others, they performed a song I wrote called "The One Who Loves Her Wings".
My vocal student/co-writer/novelist Jenni Schaefer wrote an article called "Mom, It's Not Your Fault." Shedding insight about eating disorders it was, among other places, published in the newspaper "The Tennessean".

Judy's News
I performed this month on the 100th episode of "Songwriters In The Round with Don McNatt and friends". I played a three way set with Don and Glenn Douglas Tubb who wrote classic country smashes such as "Home of the Blues" (cut by Johnny Cash), "Two Story House" (Tammy Wynette), "Skip A Rope" (Henson Cargill) as well as other cuts by everyone from Dwight Yoakam to Bob Dylan. I was honored to be there:)

I joined a site called "New Artist Radio". It plays and promotes all kinds of genres of music on several shows. I plan on hosting my own internet radio show there (I'll give you details when it's up). If you join, you can get one of your songs played no charge, then go from there if you want more promotion. In fact, you'll see Emil Bishaw prominently promoted on their home page right now.
I did two interviews... one with David Lowry for his internet radio show and one with El Paso newspaper reporter Doug Pullen (about my client Emil Bishaw). I just this minute got an email alert... Doug's article is in the California Chronicle. (I added this also in Emil's news )
When you write articles, you never know where they'll end up. I contribute to several online and physical magazines and newsletters, but this one made me giggle: I'm being featured this summer on Nippo Lake Golf's newsletter, about the similarities between singing and golf.
- Note... if you'd like to use one of my articles, videos or pocasts just let me know and I'll be happy to tell you how. You'd just need to include credits.
I did a lot of songwriting this month, co-writing South African Christian artist John Farndell's upcoming recording project. Only three more songs out of 12 to go!
Veteran producer Ron Oates called me in studio to do some background vocals (bgvs) with new artist Holland Stroud. Always a pleasure.
