  • April 9th in Indiana: Lyndsey Highlander will be opening for Luke Bryan from 6-6:50pm at the University of Southern Indiana. If you're around, go see the show...she is a dynamic fireball of a singer.

Spring love to my dedicated recurring vocal students. Your progress is why I do what I do.

Thanks to my website (Moondog Web Design), Mike of Mike G's Guitars, Jim BeauhallBryan White, writer/acting coach Darren Butler and sound engineer Bob Bullock and for referrals... and welcome to the new PPP students of February:
Former PPP student and voice teacher Stephanie Adlington just landed the part of Tammy Wynette in the musical "Stand By Your Man" for a California theater company. She played Patsy Cline not long ago. The funny thing is, Stephanie is an amazing jazz and alt rock singer! To say she's versatile is putting it mildly. It will run for 7 weeks... congrats, Steph!

Kaley Caperton's video just won 1st place out of 4000 entries in the high school division for the South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Tx... CONGRATS!! Oh, and she'll be doing a movie with Ted Nugent and his son Rocco this spring. Not a bad start to a year!

Billy Devereaux is auditioning people for writers nights in several locations in Nashville. If you are interested in participating, send him an email at thundarx@msn.com with "Writer's night" in the subject. Speaking of which..he and Michael Stergis and I just wrote a killer song we are very stoked about. Wish us luck!

LOTS of recording studio sessions this month...

I sang background vocals for producer Tom Paden this month on a project by California band "Rodeo House". Great fun as always!

I also worked for producer Lonnie Spiker at Bayou Studio producing vocals and singing bgvs for artist Jeanie Slusarek, whose authentic, traditional country singing should bring her audience great pleasure.

I produced alternative/rock tracks and vocals on young artist Emil Bishaw's second project. We've been training by phone lessons for about a year and Emil's voice has really emerged, as has his love for a more pop body of material. It was a complete pleasure as session master musicians laid down absolute alt/rock magic, ...then Jennifer O'Brien and Michael Black joined me for background vocals. John Nicholson engineered at Hilltop studio... we are mixing now and after mastering there are some excellent plans for this project!

high praise in my world:)

I used this same band with the addition of Dug Grieves on a rockabilly project for veteran artist Ben Wasson. The tracks were just burning... the top session players in Nashville can absolutely do ANYTHING... extremely well! The last sessions we did with Ben resulted in some great indie chart activity for him...this time there's no telling how well he could do at radio with this new project..
